I always say…if ever you feel like your “brand” of natural isn’t represented…Submit YOUR photo!
I appreciate all 12,994 of my followers but let me say this…at the end of the day this blog is mine and i blog and reblog to please one person. Guess who that person is? So take your unsolicited opinions and sideway question and have a stadium full of seats!!!!
And while i have your attention, I do not subscribe to the tumblr popularity contests and i don’t get into the “follow me i’ll follow back” to gain popularity so please stop asking! Contrary to popular belief i do not have the power to make you tumblr famous. I take time to check out those who speak to me, submit a photo, or show support in other ways but i do it by choice! I don’t have an issue with one requesting me to swing by their tumblr but don’t ask me to follow if you haven’t even bothered to speak to me ever before!! Please and thank you!!

Thinking about dying this jacket

to look like this.

I hate excess/excessive and as cute as the jacket looks on i may not wear it for a while. But in my favorite color…i will wear it to death! When i love something i want it like yesterday so I’m so tempted to just to and buy the second one and figure out what to do with the lace one later. What say you???
Anonymous asked: Random :) - Was it painful when you got your Monroe piercing done????? - Im planning on getting one soon...
I think im getting too old for things of this nature lol. Piercing back in the day was light weight. Pierced my tongue and ate hard shell tacos right after. The first time i had it it was painless. This time, the monroe did hurt more than i expected, maybe b/c of a little scar tissue. But not too bad though. It was weird, looking at it right after looked painful.
Why have i been away?
Catching up on what i’ve missed. Reblogging like a mofo…now im starting to miss my natural hair. #Shit!

My Transtioning Regimen
*CREATED WHILE TRANSITIONING. NEWLY NATURAL HERE
So its been 9 months into my HHJ. I’ve come across a lot of information. Initially it all was so overwhelming and a challenge to sort all of what i had access to, and figure out what would work for me. The key things i learned to be important to having healthy hair are
*Little to no Heat
*Minimize Manipulation
*Moisture Moisture Moisture
*Protein Moisture Balance
*Protective Styling
There are plenty of ways to take care of your hair and adhere to those 4 principal rules. I chose what, was to me the most simple, method to achieve results.
*The Beginning
Starting in March and for the 3mts following i kept my routine simple, while i gathered and retained pertinent information that would aid my HHJ. I learned the importance of moisture and retaining it with co washing and oils. I Pre pooed every time before washing and/or co washing. My oil of choice was EVOO. My regiment was simple
*Pre poo with EVOO
*Co wash weekly wth VO5 conditioner
*Apply my HE LTR Leave in
*Spritz with my Infusium 23 original
*Spritz generously with my Heat Protectant
* Air dry wit my edges tied down with a silk/satin scarf
*Flat iron or hotcomb my NG
*Apply castor oil to hair and problem area generously
*Protective style with a phony pony
*Midway
Shortly after, i realized i could potentially be damaging my NG with the heat even though it was only applied once a week. I needed a remedy that would allow me to have access to my hair to wash and care for it, and would also look presentable. I discovered Halfwigs. I fell in love! lol . My first HW was a straight one, but once my NG got the growing it was harder to keep it under control throughout the day. I started to look for HW with some waves or texture to it. At this point i could see that my hair was definately growing an i was retaining length. I anticipated having a challenge with the two textures and didnt want to risk loosing any progress i had made. I needed a style that i could tuck my hair away and not bother it.
*Then to Now
I decided on getting a sew in, but was concerned about the cons associated with this option. Weaves was one of the culprits that had weakened my hair in the first place. I did my research and discovered plenty of ladies that utilized weaves to help them in their journies. The same rules applied. I had to co wash, moisturize, and seal just the same as i would with my own hair; since those were the steps i omitted while i wore weaves to conceal my damaged hair. So i browsed plenty of photos of women with various installs to see what kind of sew in i could get. I didnt want to have to subject my hair to heat to help with the blending. I lucked up on the perfect hair to match the wavy texture of the NG growing in. Here’s the info on the hair and maintenance
*Milky Way 14” on the bottom 12” on the top
*Only the about an inch or two of hair left out in the front bangs area. half inch to an inch of hair close to the ears left out to blend and conceal tracks
*Diluted VO5 conditioner sprayed between tracks on the scalp and braids
*Detangle the bush and two strand twist as i go along to save time from having to detangle over again
*Apply VO5 generously to the twists
*Rinse hair and scalp throughly
*Unravel twists and separate all hair into 3 sections. 1 in the back and one on each side of head. Run a wide tooth comb through section a couple times before Generously applying my HE LTR to the section. This helps it to clump together and maintain its wavy texture. I Generously apply my 50/50 mix of castor oil and coconut oil from mid way the hair to the ends. I repeat this for each section
*I re wet the hair in front thats left out before applying my Leave in and oil mix.
*I gel down the entire front and tie down with my scarf to air dry
It takes about a full day and a half to be dried through and through. The morning after before work i go through row by row separating the hair clumped together to get the results i like to wear. I prefer the big fluffed out look. It wasn’t till this past week i figured out how to get it to look like the picture on the package. If i did my routine stated above and blow dried or sat under the dryer without touching or taking the clumps apart it will dry somewhat flat with a wavy texture as opposed to a wavy fro.
Any additional questions you may have about the hair feel free to ask. I don’t mind sharing, since this is how i discovered the hair in the first place. Im just paying it forward!
Update!!!
I no longer bother with the tedious task of detangling the hair with a comb and then clumping and schunching the hair after to get it to curl back up. I simply use my fingers to detangle shed hair and leave it be. Waaaay Less hassle!
